At this point my art as well as my goals, work, spiritual and family life are all flowing together like the quiet river by my home and workshop. Many evenings I am kayaking up this river, the Otter River.
As sunset approaches, I paddle up river on a sort of wavering mirror of green and clouds swimming, rippled.  All is reflected symmetry. At the beaver lodge I turn downriver to where the sunset lies on the wide water. The river is cool molten gold. I play my flute and drift with the current. An osprey is overhead.  The song leaps into trees and sky flowing back over luscious water, floating on evening's cool fire.
I pass otters fishing near the bank.  They have heard my flute since they were pups.  Beavers look up, Kingfisher sings, Great Blue Heron.  Now the water is all scarlet and purple.  The song flows on a polished living mirror. Geese honking somewhere.  The Earth rolls into dark sky.
And my flute teaches me a new song
Unfolding like the wings of a cicada
Rippling like the water
I am wrapped in dusk colors
Frogs sing with me
I float on starlight
I float on the deep deep sky.
